So for awhile the alfa was having a problem where it would charge but not to the proper voltage, so after a few days of driving the battery would drop to about 12.2 volts but it would stay there until you charged it. I was checking the connectors on the voltage regulator (it’s a lucas regulator btw) and one of the wires THAT I FIXED LIKE A WEEK AGO pulled out of the connector. So I redid that and started the car. The battery went from a dismal 12.5 volts to a happy 13.4 within seconds of the starting the car.
So yeah Always double check your wiring.
I’ve also done more wiring to this car within the last 6 months than I’ve done within the entirety of owning the jaguar. So British cars aren’t that unreliable I guess.

The Jag will break down in the dead of winter, and you’ll be stuck with the Alfa.

Ugh, Italian wiring. All the Voltage runs through the ignition cylinder on my Fiat and the PO wired it wrong. I like all Engineering/Mechanical related work *other* than electrical stuff, so I plan to take it to a shop and have them rewire it once I finish the unibody and suspension work. Everything runs through the damn IC, so half the electronics don’t work, or work with the wrong key setting. Blech!
